Product Development Manager
We’re Ash & Erie, the first major brand for shorter men. We’re a small team based in downtown Detroit and dedicated to helping men 5’8” and below look and feel their best. It goes beyond shirts, pants, patterns, and even fit. It’s the feeling of confidence knowing that there’s an entire brand that believes your height is perfect.
We’re looking for someone to support technical design and product development at Ash & Erie. In this role, your expertise in garment construction, fit, and production will contribute to the creation of garments that not only look great but also fit perfectly. You will have significant responsibilities and own a core part of the business from day one.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with the design team and fit models to conduct thorough fittings and assessments of sample garments, providing feedback and making necessary adjustments to achieve optimal fit and comfort.

Review samples to provide detailed fabric and construction details on every aspect of a garment.

Work closely with manufacturers and suppliers to communicate technical details, resolve production issues, and ensure the consistent quality of finished garments.

Review and revise current technical documentation, including pattern files, measurement charts, and construction guidelines.

Provide trend insight and develop customer surveys to guide future design and product development.

Manage sample and production quality control team and process.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree

5 - 10 years of experience in apparel technical design, product development, or related field

Desire to work in a very fast paced startup environment

Strong communication skills across all channels with an ability to get the message across

Great attention to details and deadlines with exceptional organizational skills

Comfortable communicating with partners in multiple countries via email, text, phone, and more

Ability to shift priorities and embrace change
This full-time position is based out of our downtown Detroit office with the ability to work from home one to two days a week after a training period.
